Blender mesh laying on side when imported

I’m trying to learn how to import skeletal meshes into Unreal 4.6. When I do, the mesh is laying on it’s side.

At first, importing the animation did not fix this problem. The mesh animated correctly, but rotated on it’s side. My second try, I turned “deform” back on my root bone. This fixed the problem in the animation. Now the idle animation plays upright. However, the mesh by itself it still laying down when not animated. Why is this and how can I fix this?

Either you rotate your mesh in blender or enable “use T0As Ref Pose” in the import settings :slight_smile:
