Oculus VR 4.3 UE4.6 Crashes on launch

Been trying to get Oculus DK2 to run however whenever the Oculus is turned on, the engine crashes and never starts up.

This is what the log spits out. It starts up if I have extended desktop but it doesn’t detect the rift.

It also crashes with 4.7, 4.5 and 4.4, so I must have not set something up right.

Update: I can get it to work with Extended Desktop Mode only. Maybe it has to do with Nvidia?

Hi, I had a similar issue, but maybe my solution will not work for you. I have Oculus DK2 with 0.4.4 and a Nvidia GPU.
I just installed the last Visual Studio 2013, I updated all the gpu driver and then, in “direct to rift” mode, (not extended desktop) I turned off the Oculus and opened the UEngine. At that point the UEngine worked correctly, and I just turned on the oculus while the editor still open.

From that point, I was able to open the editor with the oculus powered on or off, it dosen’t matter anymore.

Sorry for my english

Hello TheAgent,

I have couple of quick questions for you that will help narrow down what exactly it is that is causing this issue.

Quick questions:

  1. Have you updated your Oculus Runtime to version 0.4.4? (This is a known issue and updating your Runtime will fix the problem.)
  2. Are you receiving any errors? (If so, please provide them)

Hello TheAgent,

We have not heard back from you in a few days, so we are marking this post as Resolved for tracking purposes. If you are still experiencing the issue you reported, please respond to this message with additional information and we will offer further assistance.

Thank you.

Hello everyone. (Sorry for my english, i´m spanish).

I had the same problem and the solution I found (at least for me).

1. Approach ** C: \ Program Files \ Epic Games \ 4.7 \ Engine \ Binaries \ Win64 ** and establish compatible with Windows 7 in the executable UE4Editor.exe

2. Ensure that UE4Editor.exe running with high performance processor (NVIDIA Control panel).

THAT’S ALL¡¡¡ After making thousand tests and read thousand forums only that is worked¡¡¡
