Tips for Animating Camera to Music in Matinee

Hey all,

I’m trying to nail down the best tactics for animating in matinee.

I have a music track and a animated skeletal mesh in matinee and I’m trying to animate the camera. Coming from a video edited background I’m used to working with timelines and keyframes but in matinee it seems like things can get off sync really quickly if you jump around the timeline without hitting stop first and then play again at the new spot. Is this just how things are or am I missing something?

Another thing that I thought would be really useful would be to slowdown the playback speed in matinee but this only seems to slow the skeletal mesh animation and camera movement down while the music track plays at it’s normal speed thus getting out of sync. Again, is this just how things are or is there a way to do this?

Hints and tips are appreciated. :-]

It seems like sound only becomes out of sync when jumping back in the timeline without stopping. Jumping forward stays sync. Is this a feature or a bug?

Getting the playback speed to control the sound as well as animation would be very useful though.

Actually no, the syncing is pretty bad. Even clicking stop, advancing the timeline, and playing sometimes doesn’t sync things. Most of the time it’s fine but every now and then the sound will be out of sync.

Same problem here…
