Automatic Material Changes for aircraft parts (door, chairs, etc) when importing to UE4 or Automatic Material Changes without changing its properties

Hi,

I am new to Unreal Engine 4. I need one help. I converted step/stp files to fbx files using Autodesk Showcase. Then I imported fbx files of aircraft parts such as door, chair, etc in Unreal Engine 4. After importing the door for example and when I drag it to the editor, its property name is just a default material. But the material should be changed like Copper, Aluminium, etc automatically and its name has to be changed to door automatically without changing in its properties. Is it possible?

As I worked so far, I think there is no options like that. Is it true?

  1. For that now I am trying to set that using Blueprint script. As I am new, I don’t know how to script in it? Is it possible to do this using Blueprint/C++? Can somebody help me to solve this problem?

  2. Once I solve this, for example if its name has been changed to door, then whenever I import that material, its name and material should be changed to door automatically. I think I need to create a class for this if I understood correctly. So whenever I import that material, its name and property has to be changed automatically without changing its properties. Is it possible to do this using Blueprint/C++? Please help me to solve this issue.

Thanks.
