Sudden Lighting Changes?

Hi,
I’ve been working on a scene for a little while (the lighter image) outlining the level. However suddenly the lighting has changed (darker image) and when played in game mode the view is blurring. The same effect has happened to another scene I was creating. This effect seems to has happened when I opened two scenes at once (possibly), I sometimes see a message saying my frame rate has drop and UE4 wants to reduce the quality. Could this be the issue? how can I reset the settings and revert back to the higher quality render?

Thanks for any help,

Dan.

Also under closer inspection the scene does not contain any highlights from the roughness map after the sudden lighting and quality changes.

Hi Dan,

To set the quality settings back to the highest go to your Settings toolbar button > Engine Scalability > and set everything to Epic.

If this doesn’t solve your issue let me know and we can look at other things that may have caused the issue.

Somehow, after a routine Windows Update, <~~~

My Default UE5 Engine Scalability get set to low.

Lighting looked shallow…

GPU Particles all but disappeared… sniff…

My entire world… had ended… and no one told me… how it happened… sniff
