Search help

  • Simple searches use one or more words. Separate the words with spaces (cat dog) to search cat,dog or both. Separate the words with plus signs (cat +dog) to search for items that may contain cat but must contain dog.
  • You can further refine your search on the search results page, where you can search by keywords, author, topic. These can be combined with each other. Examples
    • cat dog --matches anything with cat,dog or both
    • cat +dog --searches for cat +dog where dog is a mandatory term
    • cat -dog -- searches for cat excluding any result containing dog
    • [cats] —will restrict your search to results with topic named "cats"
    • [cats] [dogs] —will restrict your search to results with both topics, "cats", and "dogs"

System requirement related questions

I am planing on getting a new laptop and I have a few questions related to the requirements of UE4:

1) What are the lowest properties of a graphics card for it to be able to start up UE4? 2) Will the graphical requirement be lowered in the future? (aka. will I be able to start it up with a weaker card in the future) 3) Will there ever be a 32bit version of UE4

You will need a powerful setup to get started developing with UE4 right now. Here's what we recommend:

Desktop PC or Mac Windows 7 64-bit or Mac OS X 10.9.2 or later Quad-core Intel or AMD processor, 2.5 GHz or faster NVIDIA GeForce 470 GTX or AMD Radeon 6870 HD series card or higher 8 GB RAM

If you have more specific graphics card questions, there may be some answers you can search for here or at the forums: https://forums.unrealengine.com/

You can read Tim Sweeney's thoughts on future requirements here: https://answers.unrealengine.com/questions/14899/what-will-probably-be-the-system-requirements-for.html

Hope that helps!
