Hide light actors in Scene Outliner not work

Hide actor like movable lights in the Scene Outliner not work

Hello ,

What version of the engine are you using so I can test this on my end?

Thanks,

Tim edit my post, is in the 4.7 P4 but affect to all versions 4.6, 4.6.1, 4.7 Px …

Then if work, why you have light in the scene ?
Is the visible on/off only for the visibility the icon ?

I have tested this in all the binary builds I have and the ‘Hide’ function within the ‘Scene Outliner’ is working as intended for me.

Visible Actors in Scene Outliner

Hidden Actors in Scene Outliner

I clicked the ‘eyeball’ as well as used the right-click option under ‘Visibility’

Have you changed any project settings or preferences?

Cheers,

This is because you have baked the lighting into your scene. Also, the ‘Bp_Sky_Sphere’ is producing the ambient scene light you are seeing. Here is an example.

Hidden Sky Sphere

Here you can see I have a small value on my directional light, but have hidden the ‘BP_Sky_Sphere’ within the ‘Scene Outliner’

I hope this clarifies things a bit. If you have any other questions or need further assistance let us know and we will be glad to help.

Cheers,

When i turn off the Visibility in 4.7 from outliner of the Directional Light, Skylight and Sky using all in movable (realtime) the light no disappears…

Change the intensity don’t is change the visibility.

This is displaying correctly. If you want no lights, then you change the intensity of your main light source. If you are attempting to hide the actor then use visibility.

Then is better turn on/off the visibility of the light in the light properties no the intensity.
The main idea of the post is add that at the outliner, but ok.

The purpose of the ‘Scene Outliner’ is to help organize and find actors within your Levels easier. They purposefully do not have any functionality as it would add potential issues with editing values and certain properties of these actors.

, I don’t know if you figured this out, but I’ll try to help. I’m a beginner myself and, with respect, I think these other “experts” are over-thinking your question a bit.
If you select your light, go down to the “details” panel. Find the “Rendering” tab. Within that tab, there’s a “Visible” button. Turn it off, and the light won’t show up in your scene. Also, under the “light” tab in the Details panel, unclick “Affect World” and it’ll do the same thing.

Hope that helps you (or anybody else like myself who had the same question and ended up having to figure it out themselves.). Please note that I am a noob, so if this isn’t an ideal answer, or juvenile, I apologize in advance. Just learning as I go and passing along knowledge as I stumble across it.
Good luck

Yeah thanks, but my main idea over here is add that feature to the eye of the visible in the scene (only in the editor, when play that is visible like when you turn the eye of a 3d model, in the editor is no visible but in game is visible)

Hello ,

I have gone ahead and entered a feature request for this issue UE-16655. I cannot promise this will get implemented as the reason stated earlier in this post, as their functionalities are separate on purpose.

With that said, if this does get implemented look for updates in the release notes on our Forums.

Thank you,
