Upscale Cylinder Projection distortion

(I can’t get this feature to work in 4.6 only 4.7)
I’ve tested using the r.Upscale.Cylinder 1 feature and when I change the FOV on a camera or use the temporary Z / C fov hotkeys the screen gets blurry and distorted (i.e Low Resolution).

Is anyone else having this issue?

Hey Laserman -

The Cylindrical Projection is a new experimental feature that was announced back on November 11th in our upcoming features it has not been ready for release before 4.7 and I am not sure if it will move out of experimental status in 4.7.

Having said that, I wan to make sure that both of these Console Variables have been used
r.Upscale.Cylinder (1.0 for the full effect)
r.ScreenPercentage.Editor 1 (to see the effect in the editor as well)

Hey , I have used both those console variables.
I have tested the fov hotkey in simulate/play mode, with the default camera actor and a new one locked to the view and also via matinee
Every time the FOV increases towards maximum the screen resolution can’t hold up.

Do you get the same results?

I have been able to reproduce the issue and have alerted our engineers to the deformation that occurs at high FOVs. As this is still an experimental feature look for improvements in the coming months.
