[Bug] Components jitter when being transformed in BP editor

Branch: Binary
Build: 4.0.1
Repeatable: Random

Occasionally, components far from 0,0,0 jitter like crazy when trying to transform (Move) them with gizmos.

The desired effect is that components move smoothly when being dragged.

This is difficult to repeat, and seems to be either map or circumstance dependent. Rebuilding the same blueprint with the exact same assets in a fresh map will clear the problem.

Interesting, might it be possible to post a video of the problem? The editor should have a ‘record video’ button in the top right.

Hmm I can’t seem to find a record video option or icon here, perhaps it’s in the beta, or a different build?

A bit more information.

When I load a map that was affected before, I can replicate it every time.

But if I try and recreate the circumstances - same FBX import ( a Max 2013 FBX with a couple dozen objects inside it ), the problem doesn’t recur.

Also it isn’t related to distance. I didn’t notice before, but the jitter occurs at all distances.

Additionally, perhaps this is the important bit: It only happens on blueprints created from the Details panel (Replace with Composited Blueprint).

Creating a clean Blueprint and then adding the same static mesh component to it I get normal behaviour

THanks - that does look odd and I’m not sure what is going on. I created a bug in our tracking system to investigate, thank you!

Great news! Cheers James!

Just as a follow up, we tracked down the issue to being related to the root component being scaled. We already fixed it internally, it will be in the next release. Sorry for the trouble!
