Convert a static mesh into a BSP?

What I am trying to do is create a BSP file based on a static mesh that I have. I want to do this to create a substractive BSP to create a hole in the wall that matches the frame of a door that I created. How can I do this? Is there a better way to achieve this? Thank you!

Hi TimeTravel,

If you want to convert a BSP that is using a subtractive brush already with the hole all you need to do is select the BSP and the subtractive brush together then go through the normal process of converting to static mesh. You can do this via the details panel on the right once the BSP additive and subtractive are selected.

As for the best method to create a wall with a door. I always suggest a modeling program you’re comfortable using. You can get the cleanest results that way.

Thanks!

Hey thanks for the answer . However what I am trying to do is convert the static mesh of my door into a BSP, so that I can set it to substractive and then reate a hole the perfect size of the mesh.

Oops! It’s getting late in the day as I totally read that backwards.

That is not something that is possible. BSP is so much different than a static mesh that it would never work. In an instance like that you would need to use a modeling program.

Apologies for the confusion!

Haha no problem! I’m not too good with modeling programs so I might try to just create a substractive BSP with the rough shape of my door. Thanks!

hi, I have the same question of your topic . Have you find any solution of StaticMesh to bsp? Hope your Answers!
