Anyone understand of this page in Android package?

I still don’t understand this page mean I hope you can solve it out for me please !!

https://docs.unrealengine.com/latest/INT/Platforms/Android/GettingStarted/2/index.html

Tap the Build Number 7 times. After the first few presses, you will see a You are now # steps away from becoming a developer. message.

I can just only tap the android version with a Jelly Bean come up. No idea does it mean Developer Mode has been activated.???

Howdy William,

Thank you for posting about this issue. I am a bit confused as to what is going on for you exactly. Would you be saying that you have tapped the Android version 7 times and saw a Jelly Bean appear? If you have done this correctly, In your phone settings, you should be able to see an option for Developer Options.

If you do see this option, then you are now using your device in developer mode.

Thanks and have a great day!

I saw your photo and understand it a little bit now and no idea what to do next. Because the website said >>> Tap the Build Number 7 times. After the first few presses, you will see a You are now # steps away from becoming a developer. message.<<<

I don’t have any build number button and i thought it want me to press the android android version 3 times. It show up just like my photo below. It never show up anything. Honestly if i didn’t see your photo really no idea what does it mean for the process. The photo above I don’t have to press anything at all. It just have it on my Galaxy note 8.0 as the photo below. Anyway thank you so much for the help. !!! I keep try it and if i have problem i post it again.

Alright, I have changed the user language into english and found it out! Is that the one you are trying to talk about tap that build number on the circle?
I guess it would be the phone translation problem. That’s why i can’t find it out from the first time. I was using the other language. In the other language it means Version number not build number. That’s why i can view it after change the language into all fully english.

Looks like you have the developer Options enabled. That is exactly what you want to see. Also, be sure to have the USB debugging checkbox enabled.

The tap 7 times in an estimate of how many time you would need to tap to enable the developer option. It is not an exact.

Let me know if any additional information is needed.

Thanks!

I still haven’t and can’t export to android yet !!!

In some cases, a correctly configured device may not show up if it is connected as a Media Device (MTP) instead of as a Camera (PTP). Select the Camera (PTP) option if your device is not visible at all under adb devices at this point.

I choose the MTP and PTP. Both of them is just only look up the file. But still can’t be find in the adb devices.

if you type adb device it has something to show up<<<<

Do you need to have a Game ID from Google just like the apple does have a bundles Identifier.

Hey William,

Have you installed the drivers for your device yet? You would need to go to this page and locate the correct driver for your device. This will allow your UE4 project to deploy to your device.

The drivers are located in the second to last section on both of the list of devices.

After you install the drivers, you should see a screen pop up on your phone asking if you would like to trust this computer. You would always want to click allow so that the phone can sync with your computer.

Let me know if you come across any other errors.

Thanks!

That page i have checked before i made a post here.
I didn’t see it has a drive for
GALAXY Note 8.0 LTE
GT-N5120
That’s why i post and see if anyone might have the answer.
Can you check does the new drive for it come out yet or does UE4 support to this one?

Samsung does have a lots of tablet come to the market but no idea which is the standard for design UE4 mobile game ? Just like apple it has just only a ipad2 or iphone. I haven’t try it on the ipad mini may be it will deploy successful too.

Being that the device is not on the list means that it is currently untested. This does not mean that the device will not be able to be deployed to, but results may be sub par. Our standard device that we test on for Android is the Nexus 5 phone.

Here is a link to the Samsung site where you can find the drivers for your device: GALAXY Note 8.0 LTE | Samsung Support HK_EN

Well i just install the Samsung Kies. Looks like it start can be detected with UE4 method. no idea does it works. Do i need a google ID for google apps?
How do i know if the apps successful Deployed? I can’t use Android in UE4 for preview.

As long as you kept your project in development mode, your project should deploy to your device with no issue. Also be sure to let the Android Command Prompt close by itself. If you manually close the prompt, the project will not be fully deployed to the device.

Thank you so much for the help.
The Command Prompt closet itself and it can finally deploy it in my tablet. Except the sun is missing i can’t see it in the sky. And no idea should I choose Android(All) << does it the best opinion for any android mobile?

Using the Android (all) is going to take the packaging project significantly longer and the size of the package will be larger. I would recommend using the a device specific format to quicken the packaging process.

As for the sun issue, I was able to recreate what you have been seeing and have placed Jira Ticket UE-8420 into our bug database so that the issue may be resolved in a future release.

Thanks!

Thank you so much. The sun not just only disappear in android system. Even in apple and iphone sometime it disappear too.

Just like this page.

I was able to see that the sun was disappearing on some devices as well and was sure to include that in the report. Thanks again for the update. I will be sure to check the other post that you have created.
