Search help

  • Simple searches use one or more words. Separate the words with spaces (cat dog) to search cat,dog or both. Separate the words with plus signs (cat +dog) to search for items that may contain cat but must contain dog.
  • You can further refine your search on the search results page, where you can search by keywords, author, topic. These can be combined with each other. Examples
    • cat dog --matches anything with cat,dog or both
    • cat +dog --searches for cat +dog where dog is a mandatory term
    • cat -dog -- searches for cat excluding any result containing dog
    • [cats] —will restrict your search to results with topic named "cats"
    • [cats] [dogs] —will restrict your search to results with both topics, "cats", and "dogs"

Can't reimport weight maps in World Composition

I set up a landscape inside World Machine and rendered a map containing 49 tiles. After that I imported the height and weightmaps and applied the landscape material. Everything worked out as expected. Now I am working on a single tile and rendered the weight maps again. When I clicked on "Reimport Tiled Landscape -> Weightmaps" nothing happened. I already tried out to set up a test landscape (not world comp) and the weight maps were working. Did I forget to check something? I don't want to set up a whole new landscape again.

Thank you

Hi,

"Reimport Tiled Landscape -> Weightmaps" imports weighmaps from the same location from where landscape was originally created. Did you place new weightmaps at the same location as original weighmaps?

You can also use "Landscape tool" to re-import specific layer. Hide all other tiles and in landscape tool right-click on layer you want to re-import weightmap for, you should see import new and re-import options.

Thanks for the fast answer!

I've basically overwritten the old weight map files. So now I chose the Landscape Mode -> Paint and in the target layers section I clicked on "Import from file". After choosing the weightmap file the whole editor crashes. On right-click the only other option was "Export to file" so I didn't find anything that says something about re-import.

I'm having the same problem. My height maps are in the same location as when I first created the tiled layers; when I click on reimport from the world browser, it does nothing. I tried importing the specific tile/layer and it says "filesize does not match..."

When I export the 1 layer, it gives me the weight map for the whole world rather than the tile/level. So perhaps I have to combine ALL tiles for a specific layer? I'd rather just reimport the whole thing, as that would be pretty tedious.

reimporting via world composition does nothing for me in 4.16.2 reimporting via landscape editor one by one takes forever and i get a unshaded lod0 if i load more then 2 layers and a crash when i load more then 3 layers.

this is a 8x8 1009 tileset with 6 weightmaps from worldmachine that get updated and never change loaction...they are simply overwritten and i need to reimport them. their location is outside of the project root, on the local machine

@ddvlost Sorry to comment like this, but I am having the exact same issue as above. I was wondering if the there is a better way to re-import all tile weights in 4.18 and above? Is this a bug or an issue with file locations?

I'm having the same issue with heightmaps in 4.18.3

Same here, weightmaps or heightmaps both do nothing. Importing in regular Landscape mode works.
