How does Karma system work?

I’m curious about when we get Karma points and what are the rules around it. For example, i’ve got some karma for every answer of mine that was accepted. Today i’ve got another one accepted, but my points didn’t went up. (no, it was not my own question) So it’s not possible anymore o gain points via answering questions? Some limit?
Pure curiosity.

Here is the current Karma point gain/loss chart:

Reputation Earned For A Correct Answer: 20

Reputation Earned For Accepting an Answer: 2

Reputation Earned For Receiving a Vote: 5

Reputation Earned For Giving a Vote: 0

Reputation Lost For Being Downvoted: 5

Reputation Spent For Downvoting: 2

Reputation Lost For Having a Post Reported: 2

If an question that had an accepted answer is reopened, then the karma for that answer is lost until it is accepted again. A question will be reopened if someone posts a comment on the question. Please let me know if you have any other questions.

What is the reasoning behind losing karma for downvoting misleading and incorrect answers?

Is fot thinking well on what answers you will downvote, it is a way to control that kind of actions

One suggestion;

Watch out if I come across your blueprints.

It’s best to correct your blueprints.

You have no questions and no answers…

So loosing Reputation for reporting a spam post? haha…this system is just BullSt

wow … commenting this answer “unaccepted” it … “cool” software

you lose reputation if your post gets reported, not if you report a post
