Editor continuously keeps crashing

Hey there,

I’ve been using UE4 for a while, and it’s never acted up on me like it is right now. Every time I try to edit something in editor, press play, or even try and save – editor stops working and crashes.

What I was doing before it was creating some scripts in blueprint, but even going back and undoing connections doesn’t help fix it. Here’s my latest crash log after trying to save it:

Thanks in advance if anyone knows how to fix this. I just want to keep working. :frowning:

I’ve had this (UE4 crashing) happen to me before in a few situations, and my solution was to roll back whatever blueprints I was working on (I’m using Dropbox for some form of source control). If you’re not sure which blueprint is problem, you can binary search it by removing blueprint uassets from Content folder temporarily. If you can’t roll back, you might have to try recreating blueprint again, but stopping short of causing problem second time around!

Hopefully this’ll let you get on with something productive.

There is a known issue with event dispatchers causing this crash. Can you verify that you have been using event dispatchers in project?

Yes! I just deleted old Event Dispatcher I made to play a matinee sequence through a BP, and everything works again. :smiley:

It was something in BP that was crashing engine. Just deleted and recreated Event Dispatcher and voila! It worked again. Thanks for suggestion, man.
