I am currently importing and configuring the spoken dialog for our game as follows -
Create Dialogue Voices for all characters
Import raw Audio File
Setup subtitles in the imported raw Audio File
Create Dialogue Wave that references the raw Audio File and uses Dialogue Voices to provide context
Create Sound Cue that uses the Dialogue Player node to play the Dialogue Wave
However, for the life of me I cannot work out how to get the actual subtitles to display. I have tried using the Spoken Text field in the Dialogue Wave and creating subtitles in the raw Audio File but no joy.
There appears to be no documentation that I can find - what do we have to enable in our project to test out the subtitles?
I can’t display the subtitles either. And I’m not a coder so using Blueprint. The subtitling system has to have some documentation somewhere. Couldn’t find any at docs.unrealengine.com and any video tutorial on the web. Please someone show how it’s done.
I also cannot get subtitles to display when using a Dialogue Wave within a Sound Cue blueprint. I have subtitles enabled in the Project Settings. Is this due to Subtitle Priority setting, and if so, is it possible to change Subtitle Priority outside of code/in the editor?
Note: I’ve asked the same question in this thread:
