iAd Banner stays white when device is not connected

Currently the space wich usually shows an iAd Banner stays simply white when the device is not online. It would be better to hide the banner completely in that case. I only tested it on iOS, not sure if this happens with AdMob banners aswell.

Thank you for reporting this issue. I have just attempted a quick repro and have been unsuccessful in doing so. I loaded up a First person template and then opened the Level Blueprint. In the Level Blueprint i placed an Event Begin Play and the added a Show Ad Banner off of that nodes exec. I packaged and deployed the project onto an iPhone 5s (7.1) and I was not able to see any white bar when playing in offline mode.

Would there be any additional steps that I could be missing? What device are you using when you are seeing this error?

I have been testing it on an iPad4 and iPhone 5. This also happens with the Tappy Chicken version from the AppStore.

When calling the ShowAdBanner function from begin play in the level blueprint, it does not seem to happen. It only happens when calling that function during the game. You can repro it by hooking up the ShowAdBanner node to an input touch event for example, that instantly shows the white banner.

Thank you for providing more information on the issue. I have been able to replicate what you have been seeing. Though this is the correct functionality for the ad banner to display white when in offline mode, It should not be able to be visible. I have written JIRA ticket UE-8644 and placed it into our Database so that the issue may be resolved in a future release.
