Translucent materials with UMG

Can you not use translucent materials with UMG??
I was trying just set the background to be a different tint when you paused the game and went to the pause menu. I created a panel and covered the whole box and set a material. If it has any opacity at all it just doesn’t show up.

And when in UMG, how do you set certain images or buttons to be on top of others???

I’m still not sure how to achieve this. Anyone know anything?

It’s been a while sense this was asked with no answer so im assuming there’s something wrong with the engine or its not possible yet. That’s a shame.
If someone else knows more about this please let me know.

I had the same problem. It is wierd, but currently in works.

Yes I do still have the problem. By I did just updatd to 4.7.5. I’m gonna check on this updated editor and go from there.

Seems like Translucent materials (default lit/unlit) doesnt work with UMG for the moment .
i’m trying to splash blood on the screen depending on the damage the player takes , which needs translucent material .

For now i used Masked material which actually works with UMG , and it looks horrible !!!.
