4.7 p6 Shadow flickering on static meshes

After upgrading to Preview 6 I get flickering shadows on all my meshes. The mesh in the picture is facing the light source (so shouldn’t have shadows in the first place) and it flickers in and out. Had no issues with preview 5.

Also happens when creating a new project with sample files. Simply starting a new project and building lightning will get these flickering shadows.

Made sure it isn’t my graphics card dying on me by installing 4.6.1, no flickering there.

I see that too with static meshes both custom and primitives (from UE4) but only from pointlights (haven’t tried spotlights), directional lights are fine for me though. I think there is a bug in the new update. Hopefully they will catch on soon and fix it because this is similar to a bug that is present in Torque 3D but that is opensource so I would expect that however since we are paying Epic I don’t think that they will let that slide.

We are in the process of writing up the ticket for this right now from another post we found regarding this.

I’ll update as soon as I have a JIRA report reference for you.

Thank you for reporting!

Tim

Awesome, thanks for the quick replies

This has already been resolved internally and will be fixed in the next preview release.

Thank you!
