Search help

  • Simple searches use one or more words. Separate the words with spaces (cat dog) to search cat,dog or both. Separate the words with plus signs (cat +dog) to search for items that may contain cat but must contain dog.
  • You can further refine your search on the search results page, where you can search by keywords, author, topic. These can be combined with each other. Examples
    • cat dog --matches anything with cat,dog or both
    • cat +dog --searches for cat +dog where dog is a mandatory term
    • cat -dog -- searches for cat excluding any result containing dog
    • [cats] —will restrict your search to results with topic named "cats"
    • [cats] [dogs] —will restrict your search to results with both topics, "cats", and "dogs"

Is there anyway where I can only pay 5% of the purchase price of my game without paying 5% of money coming from other sources?

I want to know if there is any possible way where I can only pay 5% of the purchase price without paying 5% of money coming from, for example, DLCs?? I've seen UE4 EULA, and I have to say I wasn't happy at all. Epic games take 5% of all worldwide gross revenue actually attributable to each Product, plus:

1.Gross revenue resulting from any and all sales of a Product to end users through any and all media, including but not limited to digital and retail; 2. Gross revenue resulting from any and all in-app purchases, downloadable content, microtransactions, subscriptions, or redemption of virtual currency, either within a Product or made externally but which directly affect the operation of the Product; 3. Gross revenue from any Kickstarter or other crowdfunding campaign which is directly associated with Product access or in-Product benefit (e.g., in a multi-tiered campaign, if an amount is established in an early tier solely for Product access, your royalty obligation will apply to that amount for each backer with the same access, but not on additional amounts in higher tiers based on ancillary benefits); 4. Your revenue from in-app advertising and affiliate programs; 5.Revenue from advance payments for a Product (from a publisher or otherwise); and 6. Revenue in any other form actually attributable to a Product

I also want to ask if there is anyway where I can fully purchase a UE4 license so that I don't have to pay the 5% royalities??

Thank you for considering to help me with my issue.

But can I need to ask you one more question, should I contact them after my game has been completely created or before I even start the development stage?

Well, you know what business terms you can get with the EULA, so if you are ok falling back to those, you can contact Epic for custom terms whenever. If you can't live with the EULA business terms, you might need to ask for custom terms sooner rather than later.

If it was me, I would contact them now and request the specialised licensing agreement. It will show good faith ... unfortunately I don't work for Epic (although I wish I did) ... so only they would really be able to answer this question for you.

Good luck.
