4.7 Preview 8 cull distance volume isn't working with Level Instances

If you put Cull Distance into your level (make it big) and then create instance of this level you will see that Max Draw distance will be working only on the original level, not in instanced levels.

What specific values are you using in your cull distance volume? Is the volume in a sublevel or are the actors you are attempting to cull out in a sublevel and the volume is in the persistent level?

I can’t remember the values.

Hope this will help:

  • Create new level name it ROOM add some static meshes into it, add cull distance volume and set it up properly,
  • Create another level which will be persistent, add ROOM level,
  • In persistent begin play create couple of instances of ROOM level,
  • See that only first ROOM level will have properly working culling, rest instances will not work with cull distance,
