Best way to make a water dripping effect?

Hi all,
Not sure if this is the correct section, but how would I make a water dripping effect?
I already have the water pool, but how would I make the water dripping into it?

Would I use particles? What else could I do?

I would rather have it be less CPU intensive than realism, no need for the water droplets to be too detailed or fancy.

Thanks, though for some reason I can’t seem to get the particle system at 32:16. Do you mind taking a look at it?
