Crash on open, save or play. UE 4.6.1

Sometimes, after saving & closing a project that I’ve been working for several hours, it gets doomed. When I try to open it again, automatic crash, if not, it crashes when I try to save or play it. As I said, the project is basically doomed.

The worst part is that it isn’t the first time it happens. It has happened on several of my other projects.

Has anyone else had a similar experience or know how to fix it?

Also, I’m thinking on re-installing the engine, but I might only do it as a last resource.

Thank you for your report today. Could you please tell me whether or not you’re using Binary (Launcher) or Source (GitHub)? Also, it would be beneficial if you could provide us with your from your project. Please locate: PROJECTNAME/Saved/ and submit the most recent log and dmp files from the project that you’re experiencing crashes with.

If you have any additional information that may be beneficial to your specific crash, please provide that within your next response.

Thank you for your response regarding the issue you’re experiencing. I have submitted a report (UE-10813) to our developers for further assistance, you can reference this report to any of our staff for further updates.

Since you are stating that your project is crashing when you open, save or play within the project, it would be best to upgrade your engine to the newest version, which is 4.7.0 Preview 8. Once the engine is updated, make sure that when you open your project you create a copy of it.

If you notice any difference with the crash you’re experiencing, please do not hesitate to update this thread so we’re able to provide our developers with that information.

Thanks, updating to 4.7 actually solved the issue. I can even open every project that had previously crashed on 4.6
