4.7 P8 - Using Standalone Game with 2 players

I’m not sure if this is a bug or a change in the feature, but on 4.6.1 I am able to open two Standalone windows by turning off Use Single Process, and change the number of players to 2. This is how I used to test networking stuff since I figured it’s more accurate than using two PIE windows.

In 4.7 Preview 8 (haven’t really tried the previous preview versions), if I leave Use Single Process on and put 2 players and launch Standalone, only one Standalone window appears (and the editor viewport does not become a player, like it does if you do this in 4.6).

If I turn off Use Single Process, the Number of Players field disappears and I can only ever boot up 1 player.

Is this intended?

If so, how do I test 2 Standalone windows without packaging the game now?

Hi JParent,

If ‘Use Single Process’ is disabled, the ‘Number of Players’ field disappears because you need to set the ‘Editor Multiplayer Mode’, which directly below the ‘Use Single Process’ option.

Once set, the ‘Number of Players’ is enabled again. This is how you can test your game in Standalone mode.

Cheers,

TJ
