Unreal Engine is called Epic Games Launcher on OSX

In order to launch the engine now, I need to run the “Epic Games Launcher”.

I am on OSX and using Alfred to quickly access apps and shortcuts on my laptop.
It would be better to be able to look for Unreal Engine, instead of Epic Games Launcher…

The game is also installed to the /Applications/Epic Games Launcher.app folder

Hello Lysergide,

There have been a lot of changes to the engine recently and the name of the launcher is one of them. The launcher is now officially called Epic Games Launcher. The reason for this is that previously the launcher was only for the engine, but now we have several other products that can be launched from the launcher as well.(Unreal Tournament, Fortnite beta.)

You can access the engine directly from alfred if you add the installation directory of the UE4Editor file (generally in a different location than the directory that the launcher is installed in.) Just include the directory in Search Scope under the features tab of the settings page. this will allow you to search for the engine by typing UE4 into the alfred search bar. Opening this way will bypass the launcher and open the editor directly.

I hope that these answers help you find a suitable solution and if there is anything else that I can assist with just let me know.

Thanks,
