Search help

  • Simple searches use one or more words. Separate the words with spaces (cat dog) to search cat,dog or both. Separate the words with plus signs (cat +dog) to search for items that may contain cat but must contain dog.
  • You can further refine your search on the search results page, where you can search by keywords, author, topic. These can be combined with each other. Examples
    • cat dog --matches anything with cat,dog or both
    • cat +dog --searches for cat +dog where dog is a mandatory term
    • cat -dog -- searches for cat excluding any result containing dog
    • [cats] —will restrict your search to results with topic named "cats"
    • [cats] [dogs] —will restrict your search to results with both topics, "cats", and "dogs"

[4.7.0] [Android] Leaderboards and Achievements no longer working

Leaderboards and Achievements no longer working in 4.7.0 (official binary) in android exports

Easy to reproduce:

  • Open and convert TappyChicken in 4.7.0

  • export and run on your android device

  • press the leaderboards and achievements buttons -> notice nothing happens!

Reproducible in my own projects.

In 4.6.1 it was working in all projects.

Hopefully a 4.7.1 hotfix? as it's preventing an update for one of my apps :(

Must be the conversion. I noticed the updated 4.7 Google Play version of Tappy Chicken did not have that problem.

Ah did not notice it had been updated on the play store already - and yeah it's working there - so how to get it working in existing projects I wonder?? does anyone know what the difference is when converting? Probably something in the default_engine.ini ...

Tested with the updated Learning example TappyChicken 4.7 and it also does not work - so there must be a magic setting missing from all projects including the TappyChicken 4.7 located in the Example Game Projects!

To reproduce:

  • In the UE4 launcher goto the Learn tab

  • Download TappyChicken for 4.7 (it's all the way down the bottom)

  • Create tappychicken project -> export to device

Notice the achievements and leaderboard buttons do not do anything

To test leaderboards and achievements: 1. Create you leaderboards∾hievements on google play developer console: http://i.imgur.com/7sH2kxT.png http://i.imgur.com/YEcDHJC.png 2. Add e-mails of ppl who can test your leaderboards∾hievements in app alphaβ: http://i.imgur.com/E1llYJo.png 3. In UE4 go to Project Settings and configure leaderboards∾hievements: http://i.imgur.com/z5ogUho.png 4. Script your leaderboards& achievements in blueprint (using Show/Write leaderboard/achievements nodes): http://i.imgur.com/4HxiUoN.png 5. Upload your .apk to alpha testing on google play. 6. After a few hours download your game from google play and test leaderboards∾hievments.

I know it's not easy, you had to do a lot of things to check ldrbrds∾hivements, but it works. I have tested it with UE 4.7 preview 8 and full 4.7 version, you can download my simple acrade game made only with blueprints here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.xplosionwd.TheElements And you can test that leaderboards∾hievemenets work without problems. Game work only with ATITC and DXT devices.

Thanks for your feedback hultaj - I had no problems with the same project in 4.6.1 so know all the steps. eg: here it is here with leaderboards working: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.scgames.aMazeBall3D (v1.0.1 is exported of 4.6.1)

Checking the logCat after converting project to 4.7 and exporting I see:

  • "Play Games callback indicates connection failure"

The fact that it is working for you however shows it's not an engine bug and something wrong with the conversion process for my game so I'll need to dig deeper - thanks anyway for confirming it works in general for 4.7! :)

Not sure really what the issue is - but after testing on a different device it all works fine. For whatever reason non-store versions do not work on my phone - however after I uploaded to the store and download from there it works :)
