2d plugin and tutorial?

So I see there is now a 2d plugin for 2d games. But there is nothing with it no doc’s or tutorials I am a mobile artist and was wondering when are we going to see some docs for this new plugin

Thank You

Hi Meathead,

The Paper2D plugin is an experimental unsupported plugin. I don’t have a date for when or if it will be supported.

TappyChicken shows how to do 2D using textures on flat meshes and Swing Ninja shows how to use 3D with a narrow field of view to simulate 2D with nice background parallax/etc… I’d check those out to learn for now.

I have been looking at the 2d example scene and was wondering, the meshes are they just basically a 3d plane with the mesh on them also would there be a easy way to create a collision mesh for my 2d models?

Hi Meathead,

You can use the Collision menu in the static mesh editor to generate simple convex collision with various settings, you can copy it across from another mesh, or you can author custom collision and import it.

I think I asked the wrong question, I was wondering if I could create a static mesh from a texture. I assume it is not available too do that yet. May have to create the mesh inside of my 3d app and use the collision that you have said.

Thank You

here
