BSP vs Mesh

Hey guys,

my last information was that using BSP as leveldesign elements might be a performance issue. So is this still a thing? Because here: https://learn.unrealtournament.com/tutorials/map02-geometry its said, that you should use it.

Or is this only because “Community can create easier maps which are reworked\meshed by pros later stage”?

Hey -

BSPs should be used for level layout and designing purposes for quick iteration and testing, but the final product should use as few BSP as possible replacing with Meshes and optimized based on your level’s needs.
