VR preview, grey button

Hi!

I’m having trouble getting to work my oculus dk1, with unreal engine 4.7.1 (yep dk1, don’t really know if it works with UE 4.7.1 so maybe that’s my problem ), simply put the “VR Preview” button appears grey.

I tried the sanity check from Epic Wiki and when I type “ovrversion” it appears as a not recognized command. Also tried with the latest runtimes from Oculus (0.4.4 and 0.4.3), also checked that the plug-in for mounted headsets for Oculus were checked, and in the Oculus Configuration Utility it appears as attached. .

Cables are just fine as is the visor, in fact the Oculus works fine with Dreadhalls (maybe because it’s Unity) so I don’t know where else can be the problem.

Thanks in advance!

I’ve just come across this problem myself, would be interesting to know if its because 4.7 doesn’t support dk1 just dk2? I don’t know if that’s correct and I would like to overcome this same problem if i’m not correct!

Usually, the grey button is when the device is not recongnized (when the DK2 is close, it does that).

I havent tried with the DK1 since upgrading to 4.7.1, but the other reason I would see is maybe related to Direct to HMD versus Extended mode.

Have you tried both? I know the VR Preview seem to have difficulty in Extended mode.

Also, have you tried in Standalone, is it working?

Well, I guess it’s just that 4.7.1 doesn’t support DK1.

I tried both Direct to HMD and extended mode (Standalone too), neither of them worked.
I switched to 4.6.1 and there it worked with Standalone mode

Thanks for the replies!
