Remove opening a new window as tab in 4.7 and set is as before (4.6.1 or below)

At least set CTRL+W to close current tab (like photoshop and others leaders)

You can just drag tab away and it will become its own window, unless I misunderstood what you meant?

Thanks for your post. I have created a feature request ticket and submitted to devs. ticket number is UE-11357. I also have assigned myself to watch this ticket so I can keep track. we will get to work on this issue and as soon as changes have been made I will let you know.

Is there any news on this? Having to drag window to tabspace is tedious.

Hi all,

In 4.8 and beyond, you can set this behavior in Editor Preferences > Appearance. Look for Open Asset Editor Tabs in New Window option, and enable or disable it as you would prefer.

Additionally, there are two tab docking commands available in Editor Preferences > Keyboard Shortcuts for closing tabs: Close Major Tab and Close Minor Tab. By default, only Close Major Tab has a key set (Ctrl+F4), but you can set Close Minor Tab to a shortcut to easily close current window’s active minor tab.
