Oculus Rift DK1 problem, UE4.7

Basically, in my project, i don’t know precisely when or why, but right now, the if i play in the oculus, the view of the 2 eyes, instead of being one left and one right, is one forward and one behind, so basically the 3rd is fcked up and just wrong, everything is in a different position from the left to the right eye, and the two pictures just do not blend together.

although if i rotate my head 90 degrees in a clockwise direction, the 2 cameras that render the oculus rotate with it and instead of being one forward and one behind, they become one left and one right, like it should be, and everything is rendered normally.
This doesn’t seem to work if i rotate 90 degrees anti clockwise.

this is a very very strange and non sense problem, and i have no idea where it come from.
i haven’t touched a line in my project about cameras or oculus rift, and i have unreal 4.7, other projects and games work fine with the oculus.

also, i’m having a secondary problem which i can not really understand. if i rotate my head when i wear the oculus rift in my 1st person project, the rotation axis doesn’t seem to be the same as the character centre, so the character hands/weapons get further and closer as i rotate my head and it doesn’t make sense, because they rotate with the view (and so with the oculus rotation itself, and this shouldn’t matter at all. And i’m sure that my character’s centre is in the centre of rotation.

Hello ,

I was unable to reproduce this issue on our end. I have a few questions for you that will help narrow down what issue it is that you are experiencing.

Quick questions:

  1. Can you reproduce this issue in a clean project?
  2. If so, could you provide a detailed list of steps in order to reproduce this issue on our end?
  3. If not, could you provide the project that is currently having issues so that I could take a closer look?

no, the issue doesn’t happen in a clean project.
i have no idea of the steps to reproduce it, i haven’t changed anything about the Oculus in my code, not even about any cameras, i’m using the default camera code from the 1st person game.
i just have to play the game for it to happen, in any mode (VR Preview, standalone game…).

i’m planning to debug the problem soon, if i don’t manage to fix it, then yeah, i will send you the project.

Hello ,

Please let me know what your findings turn out to be If it turns out that you require further assistance, I will be more than happy to help.

Ok, so,
sorry if i claimed i didn’t change any code about Oculus Rift and control, but i actually did (i brought the classes from another old project without realizing it).

My player controller has been copied and pasted from this guide:

and also everything from that page. i didn’t notice at the beginning.

if i change the player controller to the default one, everything is fine.

would it be possible to have an updated version of that guide?
