I have looked over your blueprint and duplicated the exact blueprint myself however, I do not see the actor simply rotating as it sounds described. The character still has completely access to move around within the world. Please keep in mind I tested this using the third person blueprint, as it looked like what you were originally using. Would you mind zipping your project and sending me a link to it so that I can further investigate your claims?
If there is anything extra you’d like to add in, detail wise or anything you’ve noticed over the last couple of days, please feel free to do so.
Alexander and I looked over your blueprint and we’ve gotten your template to correctly follow what you’ve been trying to achieve. Basically, in class defaults, you had the input blocked and that was causing some of the blueprint not to function correctly. Also, you had it set up for a touchpad. I’m not sure if you’re using a touchpad at home, but through the video you submitted, it sounded as if you were using a mouse.
I’ve attached a screenshot of the blueprint we’ve put together to achieve the goal you were looking for. If for some reason, this is not exactly what you were looking for, please just let me know and we’ll look into the project deeper.
Thanks for all of the information you sent to me via PM. I have managed to get the result that you’re looking for. Please look at the screenshot provided to be a guided example on how to achieve the camera to follow your mouse/touch input. Keep in mind that the character will continue to follow the mouse because the character is included in the template. You would have to take the character out and change the cameras around in order to get exactly what you’re trying to create.
I also added a screenshot of where the ‘input’ section is so you can choose to block input on certain blueprints.
I hope this helps you with the project you’re creating, please let us know if you have any further questions.
