How to fix skeletal mesh 90 degrees (camera) rotation

This question was asked multiple times before, but the staff marked them as answered without a proper solution(?). How should I fix this problem? I’m coming over from Unity and i’ve never experienced something like this before.

When I import my vehicle mesh as skeletal mesh to UE4, then make a Blueprint using it, then attaching a camera to the body, the camera rotates 90 degrees, displacing it to a far away position from where it’s supposed to be, whereas the vehicle rotates too, but just in theory, since it stays in place.

I’ve tried playing around with the 3ds Max Axis Conversion and setting Y-up or Z-up, none of those worked. Since i’m fairly new in the 3D business, please don’t wreck me if this is a dumb question. I’ve only used to create placeholder objects in SketchUp until proper objects were ready.

Thank you!
