Search help

  • Simple searches use one or more words. Separate the words with spaces (cat dog) to search cat,dog or both. Separate the words with plus signs (cat +dog) to search for items that may contain cat but must contain dog.
  • You can further refine your search on the search results page, where you can search by keywords, author, topic. These can be combined with each other. Examples
    • cat dog --matches anything with cat,dog or both
    • cat +dog --searches for cat +dog where dog is a mandatory term
    • cat -dog -- searches for cat excluding any result containing dog
    • [cats] —will restrict your search to results with topic named "cats"
    • [cats] [dogs] —will restrict your search to results with both topics, "cats", and "dogs"

Packaging failed

Hello I am trying to package a project , though i am getting this error :

MainFrameActions: Packaging (Windows): Program.Main: ERROR: AutomationTool terminated with exception: MainFrameActions: Packaging (Windows): Program.Main: ERROR: Exception in AutomationTool: No files found to deploy for C:\Oleg\UDK4\Unreal Engine 4\UnrealEngine-4.0\Engine\Binaries\Win64 with wildcard UE4Game.exe and exclusions

Hello, getting the exact same error here with a UE4 build from source. It also does this for the "Launch button"

=> using the pre-build/download UE4 Editor is working for me, so the problem come with compiling the editor ourselves

In UE4.4 on windows 8.1 x64 i can't package or launch any game in any case :\ and i try UE4.4 on windows 7 x64 also the same of first case. but using UE4.2 on the same windows i can only launch the game while there is no imported mesh in the level (not in the content browser) but if i inter any object within the level i can't even launch the game :\ i got the same error in all case. any idea?!!

SRombauts - what you mean by "pre-build" UE4 ? As for now seems that there is no way to build .exe file ?

Did you download UE4 installer, or did you download/clone the sources from Github and build it all by yourself ?

For me, UE4 build by myself does not work to package or Lauch game, whereas the installed UE4 is working fine.

I built it by myself. Got a bunch of warnings. Will try installer , thanks for a solution.

Switch the configuration of UE4.sln from "Development Editor" to "Development" and recompile, your problem will be solved. The configuration is "Development Editor" by default, and it includes only the editor.

Hi, thanks @Luoshuang, this seems to work... for "Launch" only!

In facts, this fixed the "BUILD FAILED" error, but I still does not get game Binaries! While the pre-build/downloaded UE4 Editor works just fine (as said in the accepted answer)

Hello, I got same error. About my case, Probrem is in fullwidth(2byte) character using of WindowsUserName. It is cause of Filepath corrupted.

Then, I created new windows local user by the name of "owner" (or any name halfwidth character only). Once windows sign out, and sign in of created user. Launch UE4, so I succeeded packaging Project.

I hope this will your help.
