Search help

  • Simple searches use one or more words. Separate the words with spaces (cat dog) to search cat,dog or both. Separate the words with plus signs (cat +dog) to search for items that may contain cat but must contain dog.
  • You can further refine your search on the search results page, where you can search by keywords, author, topic. These can be combined with each other. Examples
    • cat dog --matches anything with cat,dog or both
    • cat +dog --searches for cat +dog where dog is a mandatory term
    • cat -dog -- searches for cat excluding any result containing dog
    • [cats] —will restrict your search to results with topic named "cats"
    • [cats] [dogs] —will restrict your search to results with both topics, "cats", and "dogs"

Disappearing actors in 4.7 preview standalone

Abit of a strange of this.

On one of my maps I have around 15-20 actors in front of me. When I run the game in any mode other than standalone they are visable. However if I run the game in standalone mode, they dissapear. The mesh is gone but when I print on tick the location of the actors they are still there where they should be.

I do have something similar to an object which isn't visable but doesn't move when it should which worked in 4.6 but that's another question since it is more indepth.

Has anyone come across this before and has it it been fixed in the release version of 4.7?

Regards,

Peter

Howdy pwsnow,

Thank you for reporting this issue. I am going to need a bit more information before I begin investigating this issue. What kind of actors would you currently be using in your project? Also, would this still be occurring in a newer version of UE4?

Is your UE4 build a Binary or Source build?

Any additional information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks and have a great day!

Thanks for the reply Sean!

I am using imported objects as actors with blueprints attached to them, all with static mesh components. I haven't updated my copy of UE4, which is a source build. I'll update to the latest version of UE4 and make a copy of my project and see what happens.

Regards,

Peter

Ok, I've downloaded and built the latest source version and it has solved my problem. Weird but a good result. Many thanks Sean. I'll convert my working project over then.

Howdy pwsnow,

Glad to hear that this issue has been resolved in the latest for you. What source version would you be using?

If it is anything besides a release build, I would recommend opening a copy of your project. The promoted builds could potentially cause issues as those builds are known to be unstable. Just be sure to open a copy and not fully convert.

Thanks!
