Search help

  • Simple searches use one or more words. Separate the words with spaces (cat dog) to search cat,dog or both. Separate the words with plus signs (cat +dog) to search for items that may contain cat but must contain dog.
  • You can further refine your search on the search results page, where you can search by keywords, author, topic. These can be combined with each other. Examples
    • cat dog --matches anything with cat,dog or both
    • cat +dog --searches for cat +dog where dog is a mandatory term
    • cat -dog -- searches for cat excluding any result containing dog
    • [cats] —will restrict your search to results with topic named "cats"
    • [cats] [dogs] —will restrict your search to results with both topics, "cats", and "dogs"

4.7.2 Build has no sound!

I have read that this problem was supposed to be fixed so can someone tell me what I am doing wrong? I created a copy of my project from 4.6.1 to the new 4.7.2 and a few small things were shifted but the biggest problem is that I have no in game sound nor in editor sound. Any suggestions?

Hey GameHatcher,

Check to make sure these options are enabled so your sound works while in the Editor.

First place to check is within your 'Editor Preferences' within the 'Miscellaneous' section. There is an area that says 'Sound'. Be sure you have the 'Enable Editor Sounds' checked.

Enable Editor Sounds Option

Second place you will want to check are the settings within your main viewport. Use the images as reference to help you locate these settings.

Real Time Audio

This setting enables audio while in your active viewport when Real Time is also enabled.

Real Time in Viewport

Enables Real Time in your viewport.

Let me know if any of these suggestions fixed your issue, or if you need further assistance.

Cheers,

Andrew Hurley

Perfect! Works fine now...I actually just verified the 4.7.2 and that fixed the issue.

Hey Migui GO,

Would you mind elaborating on your specific issue?

  • If you right click on a Sound Wave in the Content Browser, and press play, do you hear any sounds?

  • Have you made sure the Volume Controls on your OS are not muted?

  • What platform are you working on i.e. Mac, PC, or Linux?

Thank you,

Andrew Hurley

I actually have the same problem as Migui GO. I followed Andrew's instructions word by word. My realtime is enabled, but my realtime audio was muted. Even so when I fixed it, it did not fix my problem. As for the preference settings, I turned them on, still no sound.

Nevermind. I simply followed the same instruction and I just had to restart the program and then it worked for me.
