Search help

  • Simple searches use one or more words. Separate the words with spaces (cat dog) to search cat,dog or both. Separate the words with plus signs (cat +dog) to search for items that may contain cat but must contain dog.
  • You can further refine your search on the search results page, where you can search by keywords, author, topic. These can be combined with each other. Examples
    • cat dog --matches anything with cat,dog or both
    • cat +dog --searches for cat +dog where dog is a mandatory term
    • cat -dog -- searches for cat excluding any result containing dog
    • [cats] —will restrict your search to results with topic named "cats"
    • [cats] [dogs] —will restrict your search to results with both topics, "cats", and "dogs"

Hi MajorFoley,

You can read about our system recommendations in our FAQ:

What are Unreal Engine 4's system requirements? For developing with UE4, we recommend a desktop PC with Windows 7 64-bit or a Mac with Mac OS X 10.9.2 or later, 8 GB RAM and a quad-core Intel or AMD processor, and a DX11 compatible video card. UE4 will run on desktops and laptops below these recommendations, but performance may be limited.

Thanks for the quick reply! I'm mainly just concerned with UT4 atm so i guess it should work How much hard drive space will that take?

I'm not sure whether you mean UE4 or UT, so I'll answer both =)

For UE4, it varies depending on engine version. 4.7 takes about 12 GB on my drive, not counting the Launcher and any Vault data (downloaded projects, marketplace content, etc). Projects also vary in size as you add to them.

For UT, the game takes about 7.5 GB. The UT Editor takes up about 6.5 GB.

Note that you'll probably need twice the amount for a successful install, to be safe.

Thanks for the info. Question can be closed. Although i do want to make a suggestion. I think you should sticky on the forum (or here) the windows 7 SP1 bug on the installer for 64 bit installer and how to get past it. (run the troubleshooter which will make it skip a bugged part of the installer and let you install it normally)

It's something we're talking about internally, how best to convey that information. Thanks for the feedback!
