Translate Widget Error

I’m encountering a strange issue with the translate widget while working in edit mode to alter geometry. If I:

-Am in edit mode

-Have a face of a brush selected

-And am in the top orthographic view

Then the translate widget doesn’t work: it will only move in the direction I’m pulling it a little before stopping (despite me continuing to pull) or will sometimes move the face in the opposite direction I’m pulling. As far as I can tell, this only affects the translate widget, and only when all three of those conditions are true. So I can get around it by moving vertices, or working in a different view, but it’s just an odd thing I was compelled to point out.

This is occurring in 4.7.2. Anyone have an idea what the cause could be?

Hi Chroma ,

This is because after moving the mesh to a certain point, the vertices will attempt to invert triangles to compensate. BSP’s do not allow triangle inversion because this can break the model. You are better off using extrusions with the extrude tool if the BSP is experiencing this issue.
