Shadows from very small meshes, very close to the floor

Hello, I’ve been playing around with lighting for a while today and I noticed that apparently there’s a limit to how close a mesh can be to something and still have it produce a shadow on it (from a Movable light). Is this really the case? Seems like this would be a problem if someone wanted to make a really small object and zoom in on it, as it would have no shadow.

With ray traced shadows it looks like the shadow disappears if the distance is smaller than 1uu (more or less). I don’t know if it’s the same for regular shadows because they’ve already faded out at this distance.

Is there a way to change this? I want to make a scene where the camera is really close to a very small object on the floor, but it looks weird because it has no shadow.

Thanks in advance!

Try using a higher resolution distance field.
