UnrealEngine is not a valid short file name

Topic name states the nature of the problem. Instead of letting me choose the directory, in which to install the launcher and the engine, my installer calls out this error and skips directly to finish. My only option from there is of course to only shut it down.
Please advise.

Thank you. This is the logs you requested. I must note I renamed the downloaded .msi to EpicGamesInstaller for this purpose.

do you have an old msi? If so, please go to unrealengine.com to grab the latest msi installer.

This might come as a shock, but I have the latest installer. I just renamed it so it wasn’t named epicgameslauncherinstallerblahblahlotsofnumbers.msi.

Yes, that helped.
The issue is resolved.

Thanks a lot.

Hi Max, thanks for your help, I had the same problem installing Epic Games 5 in Windows 11, and using the Microsoft utility, the problem was solved!!
