Reimport + C:/I: Repeatable bug

Hi,

Maybe it’s a single issue maybe not but others’ posts point in this direction.

Context: Windows 8.1 is installed on the C: drive and UE4, on I:, as my UE4 projects. For disk space reasons.

Since I had to install UE4 on the I:, each UE4 project I make appears twice in the Launcher. On the HDD, there’s only one folder: the launcher sees a duplicate that does not exist.

On my I: HDD. I have a “reimport” problem. I create a FBX 2014 file from a selected object. I import it in UE4. I modify it and created an FBX with the same name. In UE4, Asset: Reimport should make my changes visible, but does not. In the details, import settings, the Source File Timestamp hasn’t changed although the reimport was “successful”. Also tested with different FBX file names.

Now, I put the same 2 FBX files on the C: drive and the reimport function works perfectly.

Using UE4.7.2.

Hi E847 -

So, as far as your second issue with reimporting FBXs, we have had a previous report of this issue with 4.7.X and are working on a solution, I have added your information to the bug report and will keep you informed as we work toward a solution, for reference UE-11538.

For you first issue, we have tested this internally and the Launcher and Project Browser are not producing 2 project icons as you have described. Does this happen with every project or just specific projects? Can you provide a screenshot with more specifics as to what you are seeing in the Launcher / Project Browser?

Thank You
