Having a Skeletal Mesh hang in the air? hanging from a noose

im trying to get a skeletal mesh to simulate physics but still be about to grab a bone or socket to be able to make some sort of noose effect. at the moment im trying to simulate physics and then attach a neck bone to a sphere i have in the air, but have been failing. the skeletal mesh does is fall to the ground… any idea? maybe wake up all bones but the neck?

Set whichever bone you want to hang the skeletal mesh from as PhysicsType → Kinematic and the rest as Simulated.

Edit: You’ll need to use the highest level bone otherwise the physics can go a bit crazy.
