When I apply tesselation displacement to my landscape, it is a flat surface, My landscape square component flicker ( appear / disapear ).
When I sculpt some height value to the terrain flickering stop. The problem is that I need to keep it Flat.
I have exactly the same problem, and it applies to landscapes, basic meshes and bsp.
While this is not a solution, I’ve experimented a bit:
It seems like it is caused by some kind of intersection, objects that are stacked upon each other or are intersected with other objects seems to almost always flicker. (…may this be why it disappears for you when you sculpt some height to it?)
Decreasing the displacement height makes the problem disappear completely (this is troublesome however, since I would like the height to be visible at all)
Using Lightning Quality better than preview might - if not “placebo” from my side - make it appear less often as well.
And finally, and most annoyingly, when the object is just about to leave or enter the camera frustum (or that is what it looks like at least). (If it weren’t for this it would be easy to at least take intersection in consideration when creating a level)
Landscape don’t have this option in Rendering tab, but guys how You do that in kite demo there is no flickering landscape. My Terrain is very small but when i put tessellation, welcome in flickering mode.
