The landscape painter brush isn't aligned

Not so much a question as more an issue, but whilst on certain parts of the landscape in the sculpt and paint modes, the brush outline won’t be aligned with the cursor. It’s a bit of a pain and I was wondering if anyone knew why this was happening and any possible fixes.

Thanks!

Hi MollyOverboard,

I am not seeing this on my end. Which version of the editor are you using and which specific tool are you using?

Hi ,
I am using 4.7.3 and that brush was in the landscape sculpt mode. There will be times when it randomly fixes it’s self but then on another part of the terrain it will happen again

Is your landscape created in editor or did you import a heightmap? Is it in a sublevel or the persistent level?

It was an imported height map from World Machine. I then edited in editor.
The terrain has been split up into different sub levels

If you open a blank project with no additional content and create a landscape plane, do you see the same drag?

We exported the heightmaps and then re-imported them back and and now the issue seems to have gone. Not too sure what the actual issue was but it’s fixed now. Thanks for looking into it for us!

Hi MollyOverboard,

I’m happy to hear you are no longer experiencing this error. I will mark this as answered for tracking purposes. If the error occurs again, please feel free to comment here and I’ll be happy to take another look.

Hi,

I’m experiencing the same error.

I don’t think this issue is solved yet…

P.S.:

Cursor is hidden in the recoding, unfortunately, but you can tell that terrain changes are not happening where the brush is - but further up (where the hidden cursor is).

Hey Albatros,

I am not seeing this on my end. Would you have a way for me to reproduce the issue on my end?

I have a feeling you could be using World Position Offset within your material of your landscape.

Let me know if you have further questions or need additional assistance.

Thanks,
