Hide group

4.7.3

If you have a folder in the world outliner you can click the eye icon to hide it and all its children.

When you attach actor to component they show up under their parent in the world outliner (as if they were put into a folder), but when you click to hide the parent all the children are still visible.

It would be nice for debugging if attached actors followed the folder style of highlighting and visibility.

Hey ,

You’re right, when you attach an actor to a component, they show up under their parent in the world outliner and you’re not able to hide the children at the same time as hiding the parent actor. A way around this is to create a folder for each group of parent - child actors and components. By doing that, you’re able to hide the visibility of that folder.

However, I have added a feature request in our system for our developers to review. If for any reason you need to reference this feature request, please refer to: UE-12217

Cheers!

Thanks! Is it possible to make folders at runtime?

Hey ,

I researched your question a bit within our Unreal Engine documentation. Unfortunately, I didn’t find anything that stated folders could be created at runtime. I would suggest researching this a bit more and reviewing our forums in case there is a way to do this through code.

Cheers!
