Find Look at Rotation/ Movement

Hi everyone,

I’m fairly new to the engine and trying to set up controls for a perspective top down game.

I’m having two issues at the moment I feel like having tried to resolve for decades now and if I want to keep my hair I really need some help here.

The most pressing is the movement I just can’t get right.
So far the player character looks towards the cursor and is supposed to move accordingly.
For the forward movement it works flawlessly.
For moving in the opposite direction however it doesn’t. Same for strafing.
It looks like there’s some conflict with it’s rotation that makes it kind of jitter.

Additionally the position the player is targeting seems to be slighty off. It probably has something to do with how the cursor’s position is evaluated but I just don’t know how to fix this.

I’ve downloaded the whole internet by now to find anything related to my issues so help would be greatly appreciated.

Okay that’s embarrassing.
The issue I had concerning the movement jittering was due to the Rotation Rate in the Character Movement settings.

And the player facing the cursor is actually working correctly. But in a perspective view it might be hard to aim and I’m wondering if the crosshair should be 3d geometry in space.

So the actual issues I had are by definition resolved by myself after an epic time span of 2 hours.

Suggestions regarding the crosshair are still welcome if anyone has an idea.

And after all this maybe i should just grow some fur grab a banana and climb some trees.
