How Can I Light a Level to be Lit from all Angles?

I’d like some tips on how to best light my levels so that the lighting is consistent throughout, no matter where the player is looking. I don’t need the lighting to be sophisticated or realistic, I just want the level to be clearly visible everywhere. Is using a number of directional lights the most effective way? Is there a method of doing it with a single light? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
