Packaged .exe contains trojan

Hi,
I am having pretty major issues with packaging my project, all but one of my attempts to package have resulted in the .exe in the packaged folder triggering my Symantec Endpoint Protection triggering a warning and quarantining it as it contains a virus. The strange thing is that it does not pick it up straight away, it only occurs several days after it has been packaged.

These screen caps show what Symantec was picking up, most warnings of other packaged exe’s showed ‘trojan’ in the Risk column.

It first occurred when I was running 4.7 preview so I assumed it may be due to the instability of the preview version. However it has now happened with all attempts to package (for multiple projects) except one since upgrading to 4.7.2.
Due to the delay in my virus protection in picking it up I had distributed the game to a couple of other computers and they also picked it up at the same time mine did.
I am using binary version, and the .exe still runs and plays fine.

Any help would be much apreciated.

Anyone??? This is really setting us back!

Hi Jsleight,

Please see this AnswerHub thread wherein a user was having a similar problem. Thanks very much!

Hi Wittlief,
Thabks for the reply! However I don’t think that thread is much use to me, in their case the offendig file was one in the original UE4 download and the solution was to simply delete it. However mine is created on packaging and since it is the actual exe, deleting it means the packaged project can’t run.

Any idea if it could be an issue with UE4 or would it be an existing virus on my machine that is targeting new files I create?

Well, that’s really the only issue of late where we’ve had something like this happen. Can you post here what is the file that is causing your virus checker to trigger? You’ve tried deleting it before you package and then the exe won’t run?
