Search help

  • Simple searches use one or more words. Separate the words with spaces (cat dog) to search cat,dog or both. Separate the words with plus signs (cat +dog) to search for items that may contain cat but must contain dog.
  • You can further refine your search on the search results page, where you can search by keywords, author, topic. These can be combined with each other. Examples
    • cat dog --matches anything with cat,dog or both
    • cat +dog --searches for cat +dog where dog is a mandatory term
    • cat -dog -- searches for cat excluding any result containing dog
    • [cats] —will restrict your search to results with topic named "cats"
    • [cats] [dogs] —will restrict your search to results with both topics, "cats", and "dogs"

Want to showcase a free UDK game demo at a Convention

My team and I have been working on a UDK game since 2012, we want to release a free demo soon at the ECGC convention, in hopes for a full release in the future. I am unclear of proper channels to make sure I am notifying EPIC properly of the game and acquire any necessary licenses at this stage. The old links I used for UDK license submission are now gone. Please advise. Thank you.

Hi Micheal,

How are you buddy? Long time no chat!

Anyway, you are fine to show off a free demo without needing any kind of special permissions. If you start selling the game, go to https://www.unrealengine.com/release it will say a lot about UE4, but if you fill it out, you can still talk to them about using the UDK license.

Let me know if you have any questions! See you at ECGC!

Hey Alex,

Glad to see you are doing well. Thank you so much for your reply. That link takes me to the main Unreal Tech Page. I still can't seem to find anything to "fill out" like I could before. I did made an Epic account, but that didn't ask any details about my game.

Thanks

That link does not go to the "Commercial Game Deployment Guidelines" page when you click it? That's odd, I'll have to have some people try it out here. In that case, you can also email release@unrealengine.com and let them know you are ready to ship. They will ask you to provide information about it and help you through the process.

For the ECGC Demo, you are not required to do anything, as there are no profits being made.

Thanks again Alex. See you next week!
