Get blackboard value returns "not in scope" in 4.7.3

Whenever we call any of the get blackboard value functions and use the “watch” feature on the returned variable, we get a not in scope message instead of a reference to an actor in the scene. It seems to be disrupting the code for our enemies’ aiming at the player, and it was all working in 4.6.1 (we upgraded because there were other features we needed that were broken in that version). Were these functions changed in some way between versions?

This is a known issue in 4.7 and has been previously reported here:

A bug report has been entered and is being reviewed by the developers of that feature. Let us know if you experience any other unexpected behavior.
