Multiplatform Tessellation

Will tessellation in UE4 work on all platforms or are there some restrictions?

DirectX 11, OpenGL 4.0 and OpenGL ES 3.1 support it.

So there should be no problems on say xbone and ps4?

You should not encounter any issues when using tessellation with project compatible under the given restrictions. So yes, Xbox One and PS4 should have no issues.

Great to hear it works on PlayStation 4, well, the naming could be modified, it is called D3D11Tessellatin Mode, which makes me think it only works for Microsoft.

Hi Andrew, but I see this: Landscape Materials | Unreal Engine Documentation, “These features are limited to use with DirectX 11 enabled. As such, they should be used as secondary, polish effects unless you are targeting DirectX 11 hardware specifically.”

At this moment 15th of July 2016, Tessellation on PS4 doesn’t work.
